Kathak
The term Kathak is derived from the Vedic Sanskrit word Katha which means "story", and Kathaka which means "he/she who tells a story", or "the one who creates the story".
Kathak is found in distinct forms, called "gharanas", named after the cities where the Kathak dance tradition evolved – Jaipur, Banaras and Lucknow.
Aarat Dance Academy pursues Knowledge from all three Gharanas.

ABOUT
GURU DEEPALI VICHARE
The two decadal experience of choreographing in over 90+ films and numerous events has made Deepali Vichare a big name in the film industry today. She believes that dance has the power of connecting humans, and her endeavour is to pass this legacy to the future generations in its pure form; thus, she laid the foundation of AaratDance Academy way back in 1997.
She has shared the dais with many prominent personalities from the industry at Nach Baliye and mentored the show. Due to her great contribution to the film industry and the Dancing art form, the entire Marathi Industry reveres her.
With a Master of Fine Arts in Kathak, Deepali Vichare is also a visiting faculty at Mumbai University, Film & Television Institute of India, Xavier’s Institute of Communication and Whistling Woods International.
Dance Academy
Aarat Dance Academy, an institution where Music is the Deity and Dance is the Worship. It’s a sacred place where the legacy of Dance is passed on to the next generations in its purest form.
This institution was founded in the year 1997 and since then, it has nurtured various Dance forms. From Classical to Contemporary, here students are professionally trained in various dance forms originating from different centuries and cultures, yet maintaining its roots to the Gharanas since its inception.
Aarat aims at grooming dancing skills through developing physical and mental skillsets to showcase the inner ability of one's talent to the world.
